Loch Lomond offers skiing, snowboarding and tubing. We are 10 minutes from Thunder Bay off of Highway 61 North on the magestic Nor'Wester Mountain Range. Read our Mountain Stats for detailed information.
New Equipment - We have increased our snowmaking capacity and acquired a Lenko Airless articulating snow gun designed specifically to snow-in the half pipe.
We pump 1200 gallons/minute from 3 large reservoirs. We installed a mid station pump at the top of the Giant to up our pressure by 200 psi at the top of the mountain to accommodate our new HKD guns. These guns are the top in technology for air/water efficiency. You will see these towering guns all over the mountain in November to January. Mother nature usually takes over with only touch ups required in February and March.
Our lessons and programs are taught by certified instructors. Each instructor has their level in skiing, snowboarding or coaching. We have instructors with CASI and CSIA certifications as well as coaching certifications.
Canadian Ski Patrol
Ski Patrol is offered by qualified and certified volunteers on Saturday and Sunday. Monday through Friday, Loch Lomond employs qualified and certified ski patrol. The certification process includes 60 hours of in class training.
